BLUE Piling Technology

BLUE Piling Technology uses a water mass, instead of a steel ram, to drive the pile. Energy for driving the pile is created with a gas combustion that accelerates a large column of water.

Each phase of the piling cycle is explained in more detail in the illustration below. The combustion of a gas mixture under the water column leads to a pressure increase. This pressure creates both an upwards acceleration of the water and a downwards force that pushes the pile into the seabed. Making smart use of gravity, another powerful downward blow is delivered to the pile when the water mass falls back down. After release of the exhaust gases the cycle is repeated.
